How Did Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Blow Through $10 Million in 4 Years?
So, fallen reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag found a way to blow through $10 million big ones and now have resorted to eating Mexican food from taco trucks.
Yes, we’re being serious.
It’s actually quite tragic, really. They’d order $4,000 bottles of wine and Heidi would go on $30,000 shopping sprees, add that up over their four years on The Hills and there you have it… so they couple tells In Touch.
“We thought we were Jay-Z and Beyonce,” Spencer told the mag.
That’s definitely a stretch, but their money did go pretty far.
Here’s a breakdown of their bank account:
- $100,000 a month for Heidi to get her hair and makeup done
- $10,000 a week at trendy restaurants
- $200K so the 27-year-old could infamously morph her body courtesy of numerous plastic surgeries
- $40,000 to reduce her F cups to C cups
- $75,000 a month to live the luxe life in a fancy pad
- $2.5 million in 2010 to try to make Heidi the next Britney with her panned album,Superficial
And that’s not all when it came to their extravagant spending.
“Every time we’d go out to eat, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine,” said Spencer. “Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000-$30,000 a day.”
Nowadays, their menu options are less Wolfgang and more Chipotle.
“We don’t spend any money on clothes and we mostly just eat Mexican food from food trucks, or we cook at home," he said.
And (sorry for the visual) Heidi’s lingerie budget (and inner self) is just not like it was: “Now I spend like $100 at Victoria’s Secret. I feel like a different person," she confessed.
“It’s hard,” she added. “We have to really be diligent about what we spend.”
“You can’t go out on a weekly basis,” added Spencer. “You can’t go shopping whenever you want. You can’t buy the new iPad.”
And even with their mounting financial woes, the married pair of five years want to bring a little Spencer (or two) into this world.
“Yes! I think being a mother is one of my purposes in life," Heidi said, "so I can’t wait to have kids. Ideally two boys.”
But Spencer is counting on winning big before baby: “My plan starts at a lotto ticket – one big win and then we can consider having a family.”
Smartest thing he’s said yet.
