Alec Baldwin's MSNBC Show Suspended After Actor Uses Anti-Gay Slur

Alec Baldwin's bad week just got worse.

After pissing off the entire LGBT community for calling a reporter a "c**ksucking f*g" while fending off the paparazzi Thursday, MSNBC -- the network behind his new talk show -- has decided to temporary remove Up Late With Alec Baldwin from its schedule amid the controversy.

Baldwin has since issued a statement about his suspension and apologized once again for using anti-gay slurs, writing on the network's official website:

I would like to address the comments I made this past week.

I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understandUp Late will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week.

I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at msnbc – both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology.

In June, Baldwin also launched into Twitter rant against reporter George Starkafter he alleged the actor's wife, Hilaria Thomas, was tweeting during a funeral. The 30 Rock star retaliated with a expletives-ridden rant, calling the Daily Mailwriter a "toxic little queen.
